வலியோர் சிலர் எளியோர் தமை வதையே புரிகுவதா
மகராசர்கள் உலகாளுதல் நிலையாம் எனும் நினைவா
உதவாதினி ஒரு தாமதம் உடனே விழி தமிழா
கொலைவாளினை எடடா மிகு கொடியோர்செயல் அறவே
குகைவாழ் ஒரு புலியே
உயர்குணமேவிய தமிழா
தலையாகிய அறமே புரி சரி நீதியும் தகுமா
சமமே பொருள் சனநாயகம் எனவே முரசறைவாய்!
Actually many will translate this in different manners. But, Bharathidasan was a communist and interpreting these lines in that view would be perfect.
Few rich ones (mighty ones) torturing the poor ones ( innocent ones ) !
Do these landowners ( rulers ) think that they can rule the land forever?
Waiting won't help, wake up now, Thamizha !
Takeup that slaying sword to cease the cruel acts of the tyrants
Thamizha, you are the one who possess the character of a cave living tiger
Do virtuous deeds which is most important; mete out the correct justice
Blow the conch shell that Communism (every property is for everyone) is democracy !
These are written by Bharathidasan(29, April 1891 - 21, April 1964) who was one of the great poets. Kanakasabai Subburathinam was his original name. After getting attracted towards the lines of Bharathiyar, he changed his name to Bharathidasan.
